There was plenty of goalmouth action at both ends of a heavy pitch which produced a fair result in a game that neither side deserved to lose.

Sam Bannister opened the scoring for the away side as he surged through from the halfway line and coolly rounded the keeper before slotting home, but it was Belvedere who went into the interval 2-1 ahead after a Danny Turner volley was added to minutes later as pressure from Jamie Dutton resulted in an unfortunate own goal.

Dominic Russell squeezed in a shot from a narrow angle just after the restart to level the scores and Bannister netted again to put Whittington ahead before Belvedere went straight back up the other end to gain their point as George Wass netted from close range.

Repton Casuals Blue and Uttoxeter also ended up all-square in their encounter, with Samuel Bates and Benjamin Paxton for Repton cancelling out the efforts of Uttoxeter’s Thomas Dee and Eden Johnson to result in a 2-2 scoreline.

Aaron Whetton produced the allimportant goal for Newhall Tigers as they emerged with a 1-0 victory at Rolleston.

Marlborough Rovers moved into pole position in this division with a 12-1 success at struggling Winshill.

Louis Adlam (4), Nathan Banton (3), Leon Gibson (3), Aaron Hunter and Joe Smith were the players on target for the away side.

A second-half strike from Mitchell Smith of Woodville Rangers proved insufficient as his team went down 2-1 at Measham Tigers, who replied through Alex Pott and Callum Steadman.

All the action in LIBERTY ROSE TRUST UNDER-13 DIVISION TWO took place between teams in the bottom half of the table.

Stapenhill Swans moved closer to the top six after a 5-3 win at Gresley secured by five goals from Mitchell Woodward in opposition to the home side’s Dylan Elson (2) and Belein Bapir.

Newhall Lions’ Zac Thornton and Kieran Baker scored within two minutes of each other after the interval at Alrewas Colts to earn their team a point in a 2-2 stalemate.

Samuel Lippai and Alexander Wilson were on target for Colts.

Lee Woodward led the way for Doveridge as he beat the keeper four times in the 7-3 success against Measham Pumas.

Edward Ingram, Callum Russell and Ben Watkins made up the balance.
