SWADLINCOTE’S Matt Smith and Brad Clarke took full advantage of Peak Cup leader Jim Hodson’s absence to claim podium finishes in the final race of the Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Club season.
With the Peak Cup already won, and wet conditions on the track, Hodson decided to sit the race out and save himself for the Stars at Darley race.
Smith dominated the 15-lap race with a start to finish win, and a victory margin of over 20 seconds from Hodson’s son Jamie, with Clarke a similar distance back in third.
Smith’s victory earned him a third-place finish in the overall standings behind Hodson and Danny Smith.
