Lewis CampbellSTAPENHILL boss Mick Wood is hopeful of a repeat of last season’s stirring finish to catapult them to Leicestershire Senior League glory.
The Swans are due to face Dunton & Broughton Rangers on Saturday, kick-off 3pm, in a Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division clash.
Then on Tuesday Kirby Muxloe reserves arrive at Edge Hill for a rescheduled Beacon Bitter League Cup quarter-final tie, kick-off 7.45pm.
“We destroyed Dunton & Broughton last time we played them,” said Wood. “It was 6-2 and a really good performance from us.
“Then we’ve got the league cup match followed by two big games – Sileby Town away and Highfields at home.
“If we can win those two then it’d be a massive step towards where we want to be at the end of the season.
“I want us to have a finish to the season like we had last year and close right up on Rothley.”
The senmi-final draw in the league cup has been made, with the Swans to take on division one side Earl Shilton Albion should they brush aside Kirby Muxloe.
Lewis Campbell returns from family commitments on Saturday, so Wood has a fully fit and available squad from which to choose.
SWANS FROM: Gough, M Davies, Keenan, Walker, Harrison, Sippits, Briscoe, Furniss, Harding, Taylor, Weightman, Butler, Kelly-Walley, Campbell.
STAPENHILL’S reserve side visit Hawkins Sports tomorrow, kick-off 2pm, while the youth side host Ashby on Wednesday, kick-off 7.30pm.
