STRETTON Anglesey A have been crowned DIVISION ONE champions in the Burton and District Bowls League after picking up the six points they required against third-placed Washlands.
Swad Caths A could only manage a 7-7 home draw with Alvaston and Boulton and finished as runners-up.
Alvaston had to be content with fifth, just below Belvedere A who beat Barton A 13-1.
Netherseal A hammered relegated Newhall Social A 11-3 to finish mid-table, while Littleover A beat the other relegated side Belvedere B 11-3.
Top home bowler in the final week was Swad Caths’ Matt Fearn who scored a 21-2. The away player of the week was Belvedere’s B Greg Chilman with a 21-3.
Rolls Royce went to Henhurst A for their final game in TRENT TROPHIES DIVISION TWO and came away with a 10-6 victory – with the six points enough for Henhurst to take the runners-up spot ahead of Winshill A, who needed a maximum score against Rolleston A but could only manage a 13-1.
Stapenhill A drew with Littleover B 7-7 to end up fourth. Littleover finished third from bottom – but well clear of Marston’s and Hatton, with the latter beating Stretton Anglesey B 9-5.
Winshill’s Alan Lewsley (21-1) was top home performer with Rolls Royce’s Garath Nash (21-4) taking the away plaudits.
LAMB INN DIVISION THREE champions Eureka Park A finished off their season in style with a 12-4 triumph at neighbours Lamb Inn A.
Stretton A won 11-5 at Gardens to snatch the runners-up spot from Tutbury A, who were denied promotion by the last bowl of the game.
Tom Stokes delivered it to earn his side a 7-7 draw, but the result not enough to save Barton B from relegation.
Eton Par overcame Swad Caths B 8-6 but were also relegated.
Washlands SBK ended their season with an 11-3 win victory over Netherseal B. Eton Park’s Jim Robb (21-2) was the division’s top home player with a 21-2. Netherseal’s Pete Swift (21-3) starred on opposition turf.
Winshill fell three points short at www.burtonbowlscentre.co.uk DIVISION FOUR champions Washlands B, losing 11-3 to hand Belvedere C the final promotion spot.
Cons Club triumphed over New Inn 11-3 which could mean New Inn are relegated after just one season back in the fourth tier.
In the other game Stretton B beat Stapenhill B, who finished rock bottom, 10-4.
Littleover C, who won WASHLANDS BOWLS CLUB DIVISION FIVE at a canter, showed no mercy to Newhall Social B in a 16-0 whitewash.
Runners up Eureka Park B celebrated a 10-4 victory over Gardens B.
Eureka’s Fred Boam was man-of-the-match with a 21-1.
Chellaston beat Lamb Inn 11-3 to finish third, 14 points behind Eureka Park.
Tutbury B won at home 10-4 against Washlands C, Tutbury’s Ralph Foster was top performer with a 21-4.
Rolleston B rounded off their season with an 11-3 home victory against Stretton C while Barton C had their sixth win of the season with a 9-5 win over Belvedere D.
