STAPENHILL face their toughest test of the season so far on Saturday when they travel to face Rothley Imperial.

The table-topping Imps are hoping to win the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division title, while the Swans are looking to seal a promotion place to the East Midlands Counties League.

Boss Mick Wood is hoping his inconsistent Stapenhill outfit can make amends for their dire 3-0 home defeat to Ashby Ivanhoe.

“We owe Rothley big time after they beat us 3-1 at our place,” he said.

“We’ve got to win the game and try to put a run together to get up the table and into the top four.

“If we win every game, which will be a tough call, we’ll be fine.

“The players are more than capable of doing it, but they just need to find that bit of consistency.”

Lewis Campbell is unavailable due to family commitments. Lucas Harrison will probably fill in on the left wing, with Ben Kelly-Walley moving across to left-back and Martin Davies coming in at right-back.

SWANS FROM: Gough, M Davies, Keenan, Walker, Kelly-Walley, Sippits, Langford, Furniss, Harrison, Weightman, Taylor, Harding, Stevens, Briscoe.

STAPENHILL reserves visit Silverdale on Saturday, kick-off 2pm, in the semi-final of the Staffordshire Senior League’s Division Two Cup.

The club’s youth team is out of action next week.
