YOUNG choristers from Springfield Junior School had the chance to sing for an audience of thousands when they took part in the Young Voice concert at the LG Arena.
A group of 21 pupils from the Swadlincote school rehearsed for several months to prepare for the event, when they performed with hundreds of other children from different schools.
It was the first time the school had taken part, and the youngsters were so good they are now planning to form a school choir.
Year four teacher Paul Arnold, who was one of the staff members who went along, said: “It was a brilliant experience for us all. All the children really enjoyed it. It was nice that even though we were part of a bigger choir, they all felt they were performing. They had the experience of feeling like the star of the show.”
