POLICE investigating a masked raid on the Co-op store in Winshill have renewed their plea for witnesses.

As reported in yesterday's Mail, two men stole cigarettes from the store in Church Hill Street at 1.50pm on Wednesday.

Scenes of crime officers have examined the scene and house-to-house inquiries have taken place.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The thieves are believed to have fled in a dark-coloured vehicle, while a second was also seen being driven suspiciously in the area.

One of the thieves was wearing a black top with a turquoise T-shirt underneath, black trousers, blue trainers and black and white gloves.

The other wore dark-coloured trousers, a black leather jacket, light grey hooded top with a red pattern, gloves and black trainers.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the investigating officer DC Graham Tomlinson on 101, quoting incident number 260, or alternatively to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
