TOP bosses at Staffordshire's fire and rescue service and community NHS trust have given each other's work a try in a job swap.
The county's chief fire officer Peter Dartford and Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Partnership NHS Trust's chief executive Stuart Poyner tried their hand at their counterpart's jobs for two days.
The aim of the swap was to allow both participants to understand how their services could work better together to improve and support their local communities.
Peter Dartford said: "Learning from other public sector services is vital in ensuring that we are able to cope with the challenges we face.
"The job swap was a very positive experience and allowed me to gain a real insight into how the Staffordshire NHS Trust worked.
"It was interesting and enlightening to learn about how it is responding to the often increasing level of demand and decreasing level of resource."
