YOUNGSTERS are being urged not to forget to complete this year's Summer Reading Challenge.
Staffordshire library chiefs have issued the timely reminder with regards to the Mythical Maze scheme which saw children encouraged to read to help combat potential boredom during the holidays.
County councillor Mike Lawrence said: "Encouraging our young people to read for pleasure is so important, especially during the long summer break, as it can help boost literacy levels and promote independent learning.
"Local libraries have offered some fantastic activities and events to boost youngsters' enthusiasm for the task, which have been well attended."
Children now need to finish off the final few pages of their books before heading down to their local library to collect their certificates.
Now in its 15th year, the highly enjoyable summer reading scheme ran in libraries across Staffordshire.
