STAPENHILL boss Mick Wood is looking for a big response from his side tomorrow after their dire 3-0 home defeat to Ashby Ivanhoe.

The Swans have struggled for consistency this season and “atrocious” defending at Edge Hill last week saw them suffer a blow in their bid to finish second in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division.

Tomorrow they visit Highfield Rangers, kick-off 3pm, badly needing a win, with the added incentive of the presence of former Stapenhill boss Tony Hemmings in the Highfields dug-out.

“The defensive errors last week were appalling,” said Wood. “They were giving silly goals away against Ashby, a team we should be beating.

“When you reflect on it, it’s little mistakes like making the wrong passes at times.

“It’s consistency and it puts pressure on us in the next two games.”

The Swans have two of their toughest tests this season against Highfield and then title favourites Rothley Imperial a week tomorrow.

“We raised our game against Highfield earlier in the season – and we’ll need to do it again,” said Wood.

SWANS FROM: Gough, Kelly-Walley, Walker, Keenan, M Davies Sippits, Langford, Furniss, Campbell, Weightman, Taylor, Harrison, Briscoe, Harrison, Butler.
STAPENHILL reserves host Hall Heath tomorrow, kick-off 2pm, while the youth side visit Blaby & Whetstone on Wednesday, kick-off 7.30pm.
