A CEREMONY to officially launch an historic restoration project in Rolleston will go ahead on November 1.
Work to restore the former railway station on the Jinny Trail in the village has been taking place for some time, and it has now finally reached completion.
It will be launched on the 120th anniversary of the first train passing through the decommissioned route.
A painting on sale to support the project shows the station in use.
'Steaming through Rolleston, by railway artist Colin Wright, depicts an excursion train passing through on its return from either Alton Towers or Trentham Gardens on Easter Monday 1962.
The painting, based on one of Phil Waterfield's photographs of railways in the Burton area, is available as a mounted fine art print; plain mounted £25 and picture mounted £30. Profits will be donated to the Rolleston station project.
