STUART heroine Nell Gwynne will share her story with visitors to Tutbury Castle in an historic picnic at the site this weekend.
Lesley Smith, curator of the historic venue, will don her finest 17th century attire to perform as the mistress of Charles II for the evening on Sunday, August 10.
She will conduct an engaging talk discussing with the audience the life and times of the actress, who went from a humble orange seller to the beloved of the King of England.
The talk, which will take place in a marquee in the grounds of the 12th century stronghold, will then be followed with a picnic in the grounds.
Booking is essential for this event, which will start promptly at 4pm.
