CHILDREN at Stretton Pre School have received a new sit-in toy car on behalf of the Bretby Inner Wheel Club District 22.

To celebrate its 90th anniversary, the president of the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs challenged each group to donate items with wheels to local groups or charities and a number of different ideas arose from groups around the UK, including wheelbarrows, tea trolleys, pushchairs and tricycles.

However, the Bretby branch chose to donate a sit-in car. President of the Bretby Inner Wheel Club Eileen Rowley and treasurer Gloria Carr presented the car to the centre’s care manager Sarah Burnett and office manager Sarah Evans.

The Association of Inner Wheel Clubs was founded in Manchester in 1924 and is an all-female organisation that aims to provide friendship with service, while helping those less fortunate. To date the organisation has 98,000 members in 103 countries across the world, with Gabriella Adami from Italy its current president.
