BURTON’s Mat Summerfield will be aiming to storm to victory as the BTRA British Truck Racing Championship thunders into Thruxton this weekend, writes JAKE GREEN.

Summerfield currently lies second in the standings following two explosive opening outings at Brands Hatch and Pembrey, and now the series enters its fastest circuit, promising an action-packed weekend of racing.

The Class One driver sits just four points behind leader Chris Levett, but is only six ahead of third-placed Steve Thomas.

Victories were shared between Summerfield, Levett and Richard Collett in the opening series at Brands Hatch, leaving proceedings well poised for the following outing at Pembrey.

The event at the South Wales circuit, however, was not a weekend to remember for Summerfield as Levett stole the show and he will be hoping to improve this weekend as the action visits one of the most exciting circuits in the Championship.
