A HISTORIC village school has appointed a new executive headteacher.

Victoria Musgrave (pictured) has taken up the role at Abbots Bromley School, which was the very first Woodard School for girls.

Over the last 20 years, Mrs Musgrave has been principal of four maintained 11-18 schools and in 2006, she gained the title ‘Super Head’ resulting in visits to 10 Downing Street. The Education Secretary at the time, Charles Clarke, praised her achievements nationally.

She said: “I am delighted to join Abbots Bromley School at such an exciting time in the school’s history.

“With its wonderful facilities, family atmosphere and exciting plans in place to celebrate its 140th year in 2014, I am looking forward to working with the pupils, the staff and the Abbots Bromley community.

“This is a school with great potential for expansion and growth and we encourage everyone who may be interested to come and visit us.

“This is a unique opportunity.”
