A SUPER slimmer has fulfilled a lifelong dream after losing enough weight to do a wing walk.
Aldyth Morris never dreamed she would be able to take on the challenge when she first joined Slimming World last year, but after losing seven stone in weight, it suddenly because a very real prospect.
So when her family surprised her by booking the experience for her 50th birthday, she jumped at the chance.
“It was amazing. The adrenaline was fantastic, and I’m so pleased I got to do it. I never thought I would be wing walking,” said Mrs Morris, who lives in Stretton.
She first joined Slimming World, in Rolleston, last year, following a knee operation and health problems.
She lost a staggering seven stone in just 10 months. Her achievement led to her being nominated for the scheme’s Woman of the Year award.
Stacey Goodfellow, who leads the group at John of Rolleston Primary School, said she was incredibly proud of what Mrs Morris had done through the scheme.
And her challenges do not stop there, as the slimmer is already looking for other ways to get the adrenaline pumping.
“I’m doing the Race for Life next month, and I’ve signed up to abseil down Derby Cathedral for Rainbows later in the year.
“I never thought I would do those things. Anything I can do now, I will,” she said, adding that she would encourage anybody who had issues with their weight to try Slimming World. “I couldn’t have done it without Stacey,” she said.
Mrs Morris attends the class at John of Rolleston Primary School, in Chapel Lane, which runs at 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Further information is available from Stacey Goodfellow on is 07919891195.
