POLICE chiefs have released images of several people that form part of a rogues' gallery of wanted criminals in South Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Police have revealed details of four individuals they are looking to speak to regarding incidents ranging from shoplifting to fraud.

Two of them men are wanted in connection with an attempted theft of alcohol from Morrisons, in Coppice Side, Swadlincote.

Detectives are looking at whether the incident has links with a similar string of thefts taking place in Sainsbury's, in Union Street.

Section inspector Nigel Lidsey told the Mail: "These CCTV images can play a vital part in our investigations to bring these criminals to justice.

"We release them in a bid to try and spark someone's memory and to see if means that they can come forward with information to help us solve cases.

"People may see the crimes and think that they are not the biggest and not the worst, but for the victims they are and that is why this is important to us."

The incident at Morrisons saw two men attempt to steal wines and spirits and try to leave without payment.

Another image shows a man who stole a purse from a handbag in Swarkestone.

The final picture is of a man wanted for breaching a court order.

Police have released the images now to try to get people to come forward with any information.

Anyone who recognises someone pictured is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
