ANYONE living in Burton or South Derbyshire who is severely sight-impaired or lives with someone who is, can claim 50 per cent off their television licence.

TV Licensing has been working with RNIB and groups which support people who are severely sight-impaired across the UK to make sure anyone who is eligible to receive the concession is aware and takes advantage of the reduced TV Licence fee. Last year more than 37,400 blind concessionary licences were issued in the UK, including more than 50 in Burton.

Live-in carers or family members could also benefit from the concession. A blind concession television licence costs £72.75 for colour and £24.50 for a black and white licence.

Anyone with sight problems can get TV Licensing information by email or in Braille, large print or audio by calling 0300 555 0300. An audio podcast about the concession is available online at audioboo.com/tvlicensing.
