Thieves escape with cash, cards and car

POLICE are appealing for witnesses have thieves broke into a home in Midway and escaped with a large haul.

The incident happened sometime between 10pm on Thursday and 2am yesterday, at a home in Burton Road.

A blue Vauxhall Astra had been parked on gravelled area at the front of the house.

The occupant of the house woke up at 4am to notice the front door was ajar and the car was missing.

Thieves also burgled the house and stole a black leather wallet with cash and cards.

A woman’s black leather Next handbag which included a purse with cards and keys to the house and car, was also missing.

The car had various items in it including a Satnav, a Robey drill, a slate rip tool and a roll of lead, as well as two mobile phones one of which was a Motorola.

The Vauxhall Astra has a 54 plate.

Anyone with information is asked to call Derbyshire police on 101.
