WEST Bromwich Albion have confirmed that they are in talks with Derby County over the possible transfer of midfielder George Thorne.
The 21-year-old will not travel with the Albion squad today to their pre-season training camp in the United States.
Albion manager Alan Irvine said: "The club are in talks with Derby about George and while those negotiations continue it makes sense for him to remain at home.
"However, if no agreement is reached, George will be flown out to join the rest of the group in the US."
Thorne has had two transfer requests rejected by Albion.
Derby are keen to sign him following the impact he made during a loan spell last season.
