TOILETS in a beauty spot near Burton have been branded a ‘complete and utter disgrace’ by a councillor.
Patricia Ackroyd, who represents Branston on East Staffordshire Borough Council, hit out at the toilets at Branston Water Park, and has asked for improvements to be made.
She spoke out at the Branston Parish Council meeting on Tuesday to ask its members to consider helping to kick start plans to refurbish the toilets.
The local nature reserve is managed for recreation and conservation by East Staffordshire Borough Council.
Councillor Ackroyd said: “The toilets at Branston Water Park are a complete and utter disgrace for a modern park.
“I am asking the parish council to consider helping to refurbish them and if members would consider writing a letter in support of this proposal.”
Laurence Oates, a former tree officer at the borough council who attended the meeting, agreed with the proposal, saying: “I have always felt that they needed upgrading.”
Councillor Ackroyd will ask that the cycle of refurbishments provided by the borough council can change so the water park toilets can become a priority.
