THE toilets in Stapenhill Gardens are now officially back in action after a major refurbishment.
Councillor Julian Mott, leader of East Staffordshire Borough Council, and Councillor Patricia Ackroyd went along to open the loos and see the work which had been done last week.
The ladies and gents toilets have been swapped, giving a better layout, and both have been fully refurbished, with changes made to ceilings, flooring, boilers, lighting and all fixtures and fittings.
The block is the first in the areas to undergo refurbishment in a three-year project by the council to bring facilities up to scratch.
Councillor Dennis Fletcher, deputy leader for built environment, said: “The new materials will be easier to maintain and clean and are more efficient.”
