A FIRM has been working closely with train chiefs to boost information signage.

Infotec, based in Tamworth Road, Ashby, has been working with Network Rail to improve the large mainboard overlooking the main concourse at London Euston Station.

Network Rail approached Infotec for a 'cost-effective solution' for replacing it that would also remove any operational risk and bring it in line with current compliance rules under the Equality Act 2010 (formerly the Disability Discrimination Act).

To ensure minimum disruption and to keep people informed during the upgrade, parallel data feeds were put in place with the existing to provide a 'seamless' transition between old and new during a two-week installation period.

A spokesman for the firm said: "The train indicators, two departures and one special notices panels making up the display may not look very different but the upgrade has brought the technology up to date."
