A TRAVEL scheme for youngsters in South Derbyshire is set to continue.
A partnership between Derbyshire County Council and the National Star Foundation, which provides transport to youngsters with reduced mobility, was set to end in September 2015. However, the council has confirmed that a proposal to continue the scheme for the next three years with the possibility of an additional two has been approved.
Deputy leader and cabinet member for children and young people, Kevin Gillott, said: "Despite facing unrelenting cuts of £157 million by 2018, a reduction of a third of our budget, we're determined to do our best for Derbyshire. This scheme has made an incredible improvement to the quality of life of young people receiving support."
