A TREFOIL guild is hoping to provide comfort in Africa with the donation of around 25 blankets.

The guild, which meets at the Bus Park Cafe in Swadlincote, has crocheted 25 blankets and has donated them to Rainbow African in a presentation this week.

Lesley and Dennis Burton, from Rainbow Africa, gave the group a short update on the activities of the project and how the blanket donations will be used.

The blankets will taken to Africa in a lorry.

Kate Savage, chairman of the Collinwood Trefoil Guild, said: “Rainbow Trust Africa was delighted with the blankets and gave a really good presentation of what their project is doing.

“Lesley and Dennis Burton, of the trust, are going back to Zambia on March 12 to continue their work at Livingstone and Muzoka (Nr Choma).

“Mae Cardill provided everyone with a few African recipes and Cheryl Greatorex produced a wonderful cake iced with an African map and crochet needle and wool.”
