FAMILY and friends of a youngster who had his life tragically cut short after an accident celebrated what would have been his 18th birthday with a special walk.

Dozens of people turned out to take part in the event organised to honour the memory of Jordan Agar.

Friends and family gathered at his old family home in Richmond Street, Burton, on Saturday for a walk to the park adjacent to Elizabeth Avenue, Rolleston.

After taking part in the walk, the group gathered to officially name a bench that was placed in the park as a permanent memorial to the youngster.

The poignant procession also marked two years since he lost control of his moped and died after he crashed into a wall in Castle Street, Tutbury.

Tragically, the Abbot Beyne pupil had been celebrating only 24 hours earlier after he passed his provisional driving test on his 16th birthday.

It is not the first time a walk has been held in his memory as, just days after his death, more than 50 people trekked from Burton to Tutbury.
