War, disney and chocolate during EU trip

DOZENS of youngsters from a Burton school have enjoyed a taste of European culture.

Year Five and Year Six pupils from Edge Hill Junior School, in Sycamore Road, Stapenhill, headed to France to experience French culture and food at the Chateau du Broutel in the town of Rue.

They also got to visit a chocolatier and a sweet factory where they sampled the products.

The youngsters also visited Disneyland Paris and the Somme Battlefields, where the children laid a wreath to remember the great loss of lives during the First World War.

A spokesman for the school said: “After the success of this trip we have decided to run the trip again next year and have had a lot of interest already.”
