Comedy gold!

Written byLeah Cassady

There will be laughs aplenty at The Regent Theatre and The Victoria Hall over the coming months – with some of Britain’s best known comedians lining up to perform in one of the theatres’ strongest ever comedy line-ups.

Jason ManfordEverybody’s favourite northern comedian, Jason Manford, is first up at The Victoria Hall, when he returns to the venue on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September with a brand new tour, ‘First World Problems.’ The show promises to feature a wealth of comedy, anecdotes, comic misunderstandings and audience banter delivered with Jason’s likeable charm and intelligent wit. Jason will return for another night of the show on Wednesday, 22 January, 2014.

Comedy lovers will also be able to enjoy ‘An Evening with Jack Dee’ on Wednesday, November 6 at The Regent Theatre. After a six year absence from stand-up, Jack is back, agonising over the slightest of annoyances and misdemeanours. Why is he touring? “I want to spend less time with my family,” said Jack.

Four days later, also at The Regent Theatre, on Sunday, 10 November, Sean Lock is in town with his brand new ‘Purple Van Man Tour.’ We all know what a white van man thinks about the world we live in, but it is time to hear a different voice, purple van man’s voice. Filled with gags, opinions, deft observations and some silly voices, this is Sean Lock doing what he does best.

Two of the most iconic performers of a generation, Jim Davidson and Richard Digance, join forces on Wednesday, 13 November at The Victoria Hall, in celebration of great times, great memories and great shows. The show promises to be a night of music and laughter.

Ken Dodd is one of Britain’s funniest comedians – a true legend, icon and national treasure. So he’s not to be missed when he visits The Victoria Hall on Saturday, 21 December. Join him for an evening full of laughter and songs when Ken will be dispensing several doses of his tickle tonic.

Also at Christmas at The Victoria Hall, on Saturday, 28 December, get ready for a barn-storming night of jokes, banter and hilarious mickey-taking from Britain’s most outrageous comedian, Roy Chubby Brown.

The laughter will continue well into 2014, with Ed Byrne performing at The Victoria Hall on Saturday, 8 February, 2014, with his ‘Roaring Forties’ tour. A self confessed miserable old git since the age of 23, Ed is now in his 40s. While for others this might result in a crisis that prompts the purchase of a sports car, Ed embraces middle age with open arms.

Tickets are now on sale for all the above shows and are available in person from The Regent Theatre Box Office, by calling 0844 871 7649 or visiting www.atgtickets.com/stoke.
