THE story behind a postcard found in a knick knack shop is set to be told in Tutbury.
Me, Myself and Miss Gibbs will be performed at Tutbury Village Hall, in Monk Street, from 7.30pm on Friday.
The play tells how Francesca Millican brought the second hand postcard in 2003 from a Devon shop. It was sent on July 15, 1910, from Lincoln to London, and addressed to Miss L Gibbs with a message saying ‘Be careful tomorrow. A.C.’
As she began investigating the message, she found herself becoming obsessed with AC and Miss Gibbs, their relationship and what Miss Gibbs needed to be careful of.
Francesca documented her journey, the people she met, the things she found and the stories she heard. As the show, presented by Francesca Millican Slater herself, progresses the stage becomes littered with maps, photographs and marriage certificates which create a capsule of Edwardian England.
