WINSHILL registered an incredible eighth successive victory, and possibly their most significant win of the season, when they overcame ZAFIRE YOUTH LEAGUE Division One leaders Netherseal St Peter’s 4-2.
Although Saints still hold a three-point advantage at the summit of the table, Winshill, with four games in hand, are clear favourites to take the title.
Lewis Bates, Tom Toon, Andy Ward and Joe Darvill all hit the target for Winshill while the visitors’ reply came from Pavan Dhillon and Ben Windsor.
Marlborough Rovers consolidated third spot with a 5-2 success over Newhall Tigers.
