A WOMAN in her 20s was hurt after coming off a jet ski on the River Trent in Burton.

An air ambulance was drafted in amid concern that the woman had suffered a serious head injury, but, after being assessed by paramedics, it turned out she was not as badly hurt as first feared.

The injured woman managed to clamber out of the water after coming off the jet ski, as ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and the helicopter were all called to Waterside Road, in Stapenhill, at around 3pm on Saturday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Initial reports were of serious injury but on assessment at the scene, she had a bump to the head and was taken by land ambulance to Queen’s Hospital in Burton for further assessment and any necessary treatment.”
