A BUSY Burton road was closed this morning after a woman was hit by a car.
West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the incident in Wetmore Road, issuing treatment before she was taken to hospital. Staffordshire Police also attended the scene and closed Wetmore Road off to cars, while a policeman directed traffic between High Street and Horninglow Street. The road was reopened a short while later.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service told the Mail: “One ambulance crew attended the incident, where a pedestrian, a woman in her 40s, was hit by a car.
“She was taken to Queen’s hospital and her injuries are not thought to be serious.”
