GOLF professionals at Branston Golf and Country Club are urging youngsters to ‘give golf a go’.

The golf club, based off Fairway, revealed that it was looking to extend links with budding golfers in the area and also to boost relationships with schools in Burton and South Derbyshire.

Already youngsters from Newhall’s William Allitt High School and John Taylor High School, in Barton under Needwood, are involved in programmes with the centre.

Steve Hadfield, Branston Golf and Country Club’s head golf professional, said “Our schools programmes are designed to give young people a flavour of what golf is about and at the end all students will have experienced the great game of golf”.

“Youngsters that are keen to progress can then join our junior golfers programme with ten weeks of classes, or individual coaching, and our summer camps.”
