GIVING someone a homemade cake is a brilliant way to let them know how much you care.

We often forget to tell the people who matter most why they make our lives a little bit easier, a lot more fun or infinitely more interesting.

World Baking Day encourages people to ‘say it with cake’ - after all it is a gesture which is sure to be noticed and will bring a smile to their face.

That is why this World Baking Day we want to get people all over the world baking.

Whether you bake for your friends, family, loved ones or colleagues, it’s sure to be a scrumptious celebration of our most cherished relationships.

We have been inspired by personal stories that World Baking Day has gathered and these are being showcased to others

• Elise is baking for her Dad, because as well as a dad he’s a painter, decorator, chauffeur, gardener, counsellor, plumber, and mortgage advisor.

• Kelly is baking for her best friend because she’d ditch a date with Bradley Cooper to be a shoulder to cry on.

• Maria is baking for her children as they don’t think they’re too cool to hug her in front of their school friends.

As the official sponsor of World Baking Day, the team Stork are really looking forward to getting involved and will try their best to help bakers in the UK make cakes they are proud to share.

There are also 12 official World Baking Day recipes to provide inspiration to bakers.in the hope that everyone takes to the kitchen on Sunday May, 18 and enjoys the fun of baking a cake to share the love.

Of course, you get to enjoy the eating of the cake too.

World Baking Day is encouraging people to let their loved ones know that they are baking for them, and importantly the reason why.
