ANOTHER victim has been claimed by Burton’s notorious bollards.

Facebook user, Daniel Tanser, uploaded this photo to the Burton Bollard’s very own Facebook page after witnessing the crash.

The incident took place at about noon today at the Burton and South Derbyshire College end of High Street when an Audi was caught by the rising bollards despite several warning signs.

Comments were posted after the picture was uploaded, with one saying: “It scares me that these people are allowed to drive. God help us if a child ran out in front of them.”

The rising bollards were installed by Staffordshire County Council in November 2008, in a bid to stop motorists flouting restrictions on entering the part pedestrianised area of High Street at peak times.

Dozens of drivers have been caught out by the controversial traffic management scheme since its inception.

The Burton Bollard facebook account was set up in 2011 and now has more than 4,000 followers.
