NEWS Telegraph reporter Gareth Butterfield is 28 and desperate to buy a house of his own.
He and his girlfriend are sharing a bedroom in his mother's house and the lack of space is driving them both mad. They've now decided it's time to take the plunge and buy their first house, but it's a very volatile market, and though first time buyers are in an advantageous position, there's plenty of pifalls along the way. In his blog, Gareth will set out to describe what these pitfalls are, how to avoid them and how you can learn from his experiences. (And mistakes!) From looking through detail sheets, to moving in and paying the first set of bills, Gareth will be posting regular updates on every aspect of life as a first time buyer. |
