The value of investing in staff will be the key attribute when judges look to crown a company Employer of the Year at the Burton Mail Business Awards 2017.
This gong will be handed to a business which has used its human resources successfully and all working practices, from recruitment to work-life balance, will be taken into consideration.
Award sponsor The Clinigen Group is a fast-growing specialty global pharmaceuticals and services business, dedicated to serving patients, the medical community and the healthcare industry to supply critical lifesaving treatments across the entire world.
The firm was established in 2010 and it has since transformed into a global provider of specialty pharmaceutical products and services, becoming a public company and listing on the London Stock Exchange on AIM in September 2012.
A spokesman for the firm said: "Despite being an international business and operating on a truly global scale, we have never lost touch with our Staffordshire roots and, as a rapidly expanding company, we employ more than 500 people, with many based in the Burton area.
"As a major employer, we want to play an active role in supporting local business initiatives and being a sponsor of the business awards is an excellent way of us doing this."
Russell Roof Tiles walked away with the award last year.
The eighth Burton Mail Business Awards will see 11 different gongs up for grabs, including the prestigious Business of the Year title.
The winners will be announced at a glittering gala awards ceremony on Thursday, October 19, which will again be held at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium.
There are several categories in the Business Awards that are aimed at individuals including the Young Employee of the Year award and Employee of the Year award.
This year also sees the introduction of two new awards – Medium Business of the Year (21-100 FTEs) and the Leisure and Hospitality Award, which incorporates everything from retail to restaurants. Firms have until Friday, September 8 to enter and can enter as many categories as they wish.
Burton Mail editor Emma Turton said: "Every year we have great entries in this category and 2017 will be no different. Burton and South Derbyshire firms have so much to offer and those who have just started and experienced success can showcase this by entering this award.
"We cannot wait to shout about all what is good about the best of the best when it comes to business in East Staffordshire. I would now urge all businesses to get involved and be part of the Burton Mail Business Awards 2017."
