A GOVERNMENT minister has heaped praise on Toyota’s Burnaston factory during a debate on East Midlands manufacturing.
Michael Fallon, minister of state in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, praised the plant following similar remarks by Heather Wheeler (pictured), whose South Derbyshire constituency includes the factory.
Indicated he had just visited the plant, Mr Fallon said: “I saw for myself how a world-class workforce in a cutting edge facility can produce workmanship that is second to none.”
Mrs Wheeler said she had repeatedly been ‘extremely impressed’ with Toyota’s work and hailed its commitment to the environment and economy.
She also praised South Derbyshire firm Appleby Woodturnings’ ‘ingenuity’.
