GET crafty this Easter with a Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘N’ Spoon arts and crafts creation - the Easter Chick Basket.

And there’s the added bonus of being able to eat the contents.

You will need:

Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg 'n' Spoon box and card outer wrap

Newspaper

Sticky tape

Scissors

Craft knife

PVA glue and brush

Patterned and plain tissue paper

Green and pink card/paper

Ribbon

Pens

Step 1:

Cut your box at the hinge and place the bottom half inside the top half – make sure to match the edges. Cut two strips of the card from the outer wrap about 1.5cm wide, use the three main fold sections.

Step 2:

Stick your card strips together, white sides up. Stick them inside the big gaps on the sides of your basket and secure on the underside with sticky tape.

Step 3:

Stuff scrunched up newspaper into the gaps on the side to neaten them off. Secure with sticky tape and press hard to flatten.

Step 4:

Cut off the inside ‘cone’ using a craft knife or scissors. Stick the two parts of the basket together by sticking tape all around the sides. You should now have one basket shape with handle attached.

Step 5:

Using the green card/paper cut spiky grass shaped strips and stick these with tape into the edge of the basket.

Step 6:

Decorate the basket using patterned tissue paper applied with PVA glue. This technique is called decoupage. To start, cut small squares from the chosen tissue paper, around 1.5cm x 1.5cm. Spread PVA glue onto the inside of the basket and then place the tissue paper squares on top, one by one. Glue on top of the tissue paper to flatten down.

Step 7:

Applying the same technique, use a different patterned tissue paper for the outside of the basket and the handle. Leave to dry.

Step 8:

To make your sitting chick, scrunch up newspaper into an egg shape and secure and smooth with sticky tape.

Step 9:

To decorate your chick stick small, cut pieces of coloured tissue paper onto his body with PVA glue. To make the beak, cut a piece of card into a diamond shape, fold in the middle and stick on. When the chick is dry, draw on two dots for eyes. You can add some fluffy hair, just stick on some wisps of tissue paper.

Step 10:

For your Easter eggs you can use your Cadbury Creme Eggs decorated with tissue paper. Wrap a square around each one and secure with tape at the back. Decorate these with felt tip pens.
