BURTON’S MP and two Mail staff rolled up their sleeves to donate blood as part of the Take Five Minutes campaign.
Andrew Griffiths faced his fear of needles with deputy editor Emma Turton and senior reporter Rob Smyth in a bid to join the NHS Blood Donor Registry and help save the life of Katherine Sinfield.
The 32-year-old teacher, of Balfour Street, Burton, is currently battling leukaemia and has been told by doctors that the only way she will live is by receiving a bone marrow transplant.
Mr Griffiths told the Mail: “I would urge anybody and everybody who can to sign up, give blood and take a test to see if you could be a bone marrow donor.
“Please become a blood donor and you could perhaps help save a life.”
