How my fitness regime helped me shed 6 stone

A MOTHER from South Derbyshire says her life has completely changed after shedding six stone in the space of a year.

After deciding she wanted to do something to tackle her weight, Natalie Lancaster, from Walton on Trent, embarked on a rigorous training regime and began a strict diet.

She became a member of Branston Golf and Country Club and after beginning at 18 stone, little over a year on she weighs in at a much healthier 12 stone.

It was while looking for someone who could treat her rugby-playing husband with his injuries that Mrs Lancaster stumbled across Simon Wheatcroft, a health and fitness guru based at the Branston complex, who it turned out would also be able to help her.

She said she had wanted to tackle her weight for some time and having a young daughter gave her the motivation to improve her way of living.

The 33-year-old said: “I realised that, weighing more than 18 stone, I needed to lose weight getting fit and healthy to be a good role model for Megan, our three-year-old daughter.

“Following a detailed consultation I started on a personal exercise regime, coupled with eating healthily and the weight has not only dropped but stayed off.

“It has changed my life – I feel happier and more confident – plus I’ve got some great new outfits and made some terrific friends at Branston Golf and Country Club.”

Now six stone lighter, Mrs Lancaster said the weight loss had not only improved her image, but her confidence too.

She is showing no signs of slowing down - and has even set her sights on running a half-marathon and climbing Africa’s tallest peak Mount Kilimanjaro.
