LITTLE ones at Tutbury Pre-School connected with the animal within during a dance session last week.

Youngsters ranging from two to four spent a morning moving around to instruction from Jenny Cox, from the eponymous dance school in Hatton, when they learned more about movement and how to express themselves.

It was part of a week of performance exercises which the group was taking part in, and was the first of many visits from Ms Cox and her musical moves.

Pre-school manager Caroline Acton said: “It was really good and the children all really enjoyed it. They were laughing and really enjoyed everything they did. They even liked the warm up and warm down, and all they participated.”

Ms Acton said the session had been so effective, that they had now organised for the dance school to return once every half term, so that each of the 42 children there had chance to take part and benefit.

The week of activities also included singing sessions, acting and other performance media. It was set up by the pre-school, on Cornmill Lane, to comply with the curriculum for the early years foundation stage.
