Students at a school in Winshill are celebrating their best ever A-level results day. Abbot Beyne School, in Osborne Street, has seen an average grade of at least a C achieved, with a very impressive 100 per cent pass rate.

One subject of particular success was geography, which saw half of the pupils who studied it achieve either an A* or an A.

Head teacher, Annabel Stoddart has highlighted the fantastic work done by her pupils.

Mrs Stoddart said: "This is, once again, an impressive set of results and students, teachers and parents should be proud of what has been achieved. We wish all our students every success in the next stage of their learning and lives."

Top performing students from the school were:

Nancy Collins: A*A B and a distinction.

Adinah Marks: A B B.

Manahil Rabbani: A B B.

David Sellars: A*B B.

Abie Upton: A A C.
