A fallen light fitting led to three people receiving minor injuries at a Burton factory

Three people were treated for minor injuries after a light fitting fell at Hobbycraft, in Burton.

Traffic returned to normal after lorry fire on the A38

The A38 in Derbyshire has now returned to normal after a lorry fire.

One lane was closed between the A5111 Kingsway at Kingsway Island and A52 Ashbourne Road at Markeaton Island until around 9.50am today due to a lorry on fire.

It was reported that there was traffic tailbacks as far as Findern as emergency services dealt with the fire.

Delays on the A38 due to a lorry fire

Drivers heading on the A38 are warned of delays in Derbyshire due to a lorry fire.

The fire is causing delays on the A38 Northbound between A5111 Kingsway at Kingsway Island and A52 Ashbourne Road at Markeaton Island. One lane has been closed of two.

The road was closed initially but one lane was reopened at around 05.45am. The road surface has been damaged so may need repair work to take place before lane can be reopened, according to traffic and travel website Inrix.

Sun will make an appearance again today

Good morning

Today will start bright and sunny but the clouds will be returning by lunchtime. There will be some showers throughout the day and by this evening the heavy rain will return and a yellow weather warning is in place. Temperatures will reach highs 17C and lows of 13C.
