Bus firm will not use the Sainsbury's bus stop due to the traffic jams during St Peter's Bridge work

Midland Classic buses heading out of Burton will temporarily cease using the stop on the left hand side of Union Street, meaning passengers will not be able to get on or off right outside Sainsbury’s in Union Street. Read more here.

Fears grow for 2,500 jobs at Toyota following boss' comments about Brexit

Fears are growing that one of the country’s largest car manufacturing firms, Toyota, could move its production out of the UK as a result of the Government’s position on Brexit.

These fears after a company executive warned that plans to upgrade the current factory in Burnaston could be at risk of collapsing.

Back in March, 2017, the car-maker announced plans to invest £240 million into the Burnaston factory after apparently being handed written guarantees from the Government that car exports from Britain would not attract duty.

Police officers are currently on Burton bridge following a three car collision. An ambulance is also on the scene. An eyewitness said: “Three cars have just gone into the back of each other. It doesn’t look too serious. I hope no-one is hurt.”

Drivers heading on the M1 this morning are warned of delays due to the roadworks.

There is slow moving traffic on the southbound carriageway of the M1 in Derbyshire before J25 A52 Brian Clough Way for Nottingham and Derby. This is due to roadworks in the area.

Storm Aileen may be over but it will still be a windy day

Good morning

Although the wind is now starting to ease, it will still remain breezy all through the day. Do not leave those brollies at home as come lunchtime the rain will be back and forecasters are predicting heavy showers, some which will be thundery. These will come and go throughout the rest of the day. Temperatures will reach highs today of 14C and lows of 11C.
