A man was found to be dishonestly using electricity at his home in Branston in a case at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court.

Using electricity

A man has been caught dishonestly using electricity. Brian Pawley, 61, of Clays Court, Branston, indicated a plea of guilty to dishonestly using a quantity of electricity at his address on January 30. He has been made the subject of a 12 month conditional discharge. He was also ordered to pay £20 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Speeding driver

Samuel Orton, 35, of Drakelow Road, Walton, was caught speeding in a Land Rover in Burton Road, Midway, on January 26, exceeding the 30mph speed limit by driving at 41mph. He has been fined £440 with £85 court costs and a £44 victim surcharge. His driving licence was endorsed with four points.

Speeding truck

Martin Radford, 52, of Portland Road, Nottingham, admitted exceeding the 30 mph speed limit by of driving a DAF truck at 41 mph in Burton Road, Midway, on February 8. He was fined £253 with £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. His driving licence was endorsed with four points.

Stealing fish

A man has admitted taking fish without a licence. Ryan Scarisbrick, 30,of Longmead Road, Burton, admitted fishing or taking fish otherwise than in accordance with a licence in Burton. He has been fined £80 and ordered to pay £127 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Without insurance

A man has admitted letting another use a vehicle without insurance. Jack Bates, 20, of Coach Way, Willington, admitted allowing a man to use a Vauxhall Astra in Repton Road, Willington, on July 16, without insurance and otherwise in accordance with a licence. He was fined £350 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £35 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six points.
