A Burton man who admitted fraud at Cash Generators is the latest criminal to be dealt with at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court:

Fraud

A man has admitted fraud. Asim Hamid, 35, of Goodman Street, Burton, admitted committing fraud by dishonestly making a false representation, namely presenting a cheque which was cashed intending to gain £711.88 for himself, causing loss to Cash Generator, Burton, on November 7.
He has been made the subject of a 12 month conditional discharge.
He was ordered to pay £711.88 compensation, £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Drink driving

A woman has been caught drink-driving. Laura Keefe, 25, of Caroline Court, Burton, admitted driving a Kia Rio in Forest Road, Burton, on June 7, with 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
She has been fined £253 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. She was banned from driving for 20 months.

No insurance

A man was caught without insurance. It was proved via the single justice procedure that Paul Allen, 34, of Park Street, Newhall, drove a Rover in Hall Lane, Willington, on October 20, otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without insurance.
He has been fined £600 with £85 court costs and a £66 victim surcharge, and was banned from driving for six months due to his repeat offending.

Identity case

A man failed to provide the identity of a driver. It was proved via the single justice procedure that Jordan Godfrey, of Sycamore Road, Stapenhill, failed to give information relating to the identity of the driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
He has been fined £660 with £85 court costs and a £66 victim surcharge, and his licence endorsed with six points.

Motorist case

A man failed to provide the identity of a driver. It was proved via the single justice procedure that Peter Brown, 67, of Bretby Heights, Newhall, failed to give information relating to the identity of the driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
He has been fined £660 with £85 court costs and a £66 victim surcharge, and was banned from driving for 18 months due to repeat offending.
