A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 49-year-old Burton man who failed to turn up at crown court.

Sandor Horvath, a Hungarian national, of Byrkley Street, Burton, was due to be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court for offences of deception and fraud.

Judge Michael Challinor was told that Horvath, of Byrkley Street, who had no legal representation, had been informed by court officials that his case was to be heard, but he failed to attend court.

He was previously found guilty on three counts of committing fraud by making a false representation in that he obtained a cheque refund for items previously purchased using a fraudulent cheque, intending to make a cash refund for himself in Stoke and Burton between October 7 and 13.
