The case of a 59-year-old Burton man who has admitted using the internet in an attempt to incite underage girls into sexual activity has been adjourned until next month.

George Ingledew was due to be sentenced for the series of sex offences but Judge Michael Chambers QC adjourned the hearing to October 10 after it was alleged Ingeldew breached bail conditions, Stafford Crown Court heard.

In August Ingledew, of Princess Street, Burton, had admitted a charge of attempting to cause a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity in April this year.

He had also pleaded guilty to three offences of attempting to engage in sexual communications with underage girls on the internet on dates in April and July, also this year.

Sentence had been adjourned for reports and Ingledew had been granted bail which included conditions that he reside at his home address and he did not use any internet device unless its history could be displayed and that he did not download software to destroy any search history.

At court Ingledew appeared via a video link from prison following his arrest in relation to an alleged breach of the bail conditions. He was remanded in custody until he appears in October.
