A man caught driving at 41mph in a 30mph zone through Midway has been fined at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court:

Speeding driver

The court heard that Neeraj Kumar, 31, of Widdrington Road, Coventry, exceeded the 30mph speed limit by driving at 41mph in Burton Road, Midway, on February 4. He has been fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 court costs with a £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Exceeded speed limit

A man has admitted speeding. Keith Ncube, 26, of Drumbottie Road, Glasgow, admitted via the single justice procedure of exceeding the 30mph speed limit by driving at 38mph on Burton Road, Midway, on February 3.
He has been fined £82 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Exceeding the speed limit

Christopher Parmenter, 57, of Hawfield Lane, Winshill, admitted via the single justice procedure of exceeding the 30mph speed limit by driving at 36mph on Burton Road, Midway, on February 3. He has been fined £70 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Witness intimidation

A man has admitted intimidating a witness. Jamie Goode, 25, of Wyggeston Street, Burton, indicated a plea of guilty to intimidating a witness by sending an intimidating Facebook message to a woman intending to cause the course of justice to be obstructed, perverted or interfered with. He has been made the subject of a 26-week prison sentence suspended for two years due to the serious nature of the offence. The jail term was suspended due to his guilty plea, emotional circumstances and the fact that the intimidation was not followed up. He was ordered to abide by a restraining order to keep away from his victim for five years. He was also ordered to pay £500 compensation, £85 court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Intentional damage

A man has admitted causing a roadside danger. Adam Thomson, 21, of Flamstead Street, Allenton, indicated a plea of guilty to intentionally causing various parts from the interior of a Volkswagen Golf to be thrown onto the A514 at Ticknall on July 5. He has been made the subject of a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He was also made the subject of an eight week curfew and ordered to pay £85 court costs with a £115 victim surcharge.
